Circle of Love

You don’t have to be a child’s natural parent to be the main source of love and nurturing in his or her life. Many primary caregivers of children are not birth mothers and fathers but grandparents, aunts, uncles and other family members. The responsibility of taking care of a relative’s child or children can contribute to confusion and added stress about what’s best for a child.

Circle of Love addresses ways to handle child-rearing stress, the challenges of relating to absent biological parents, and the complexity of different family communication styles. It is designed to help adults and children in these families create healthy and nurturing homes —even when a biological parent is not present.
